Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Engineering – Full Stack Platforms to lead the architecture, development, scalability, and execution of enterprise-grade backend and frontend platforms.

This role requires strong expertise in scalable backend systems, modern frontend architectures, distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, engineering leadership, and enterprise product development.

The ideal candidate should have extensive experience building and scaling high-performance platforms from scratch while leading large cross-functional engineering organizations across frontend, backend, platform, and product engineering teams.

The candidate will work closely with Product, Architecture, Platform Engineering, Design, DevOps, and Executive Leadership teams to drive next-generation enterprise technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Leadership

• Lead and scale large engineering organizations across Backend, Frontend, and Platform Engineering teams
• Define and drive engineering strategy, architecture standards, platform modernization, and execution roadmaps
• Mentor Engineering Managers, Architects, Staff Engineers, and technical leaders across distributed teams
• Establish engineering best practices, operational excellence, quality standards, and scalable delivery processes

Backend Platform Engineering

• Architect and build scalable, reliable, and high-performance backend systems and distributed platforms
• Drive development of:
• Microservices architectures
• APIs and integration platforms
• Real-time systems and event-driven architectures
• Cloud-native backend platforms
• Enterprise workflow and business systems
• Ensure scalability, fault tolerance, observability, performance optimization, and system reliability
• Lead backend modernization and platform transformation initiatives

Frontend Platform Engineering

• Drive architecture and development of scalable, modern frontend applications and enterprise UI platforms
• Lead frontend engineering initiatives involving:
• React.js / Angular platforms
• Design systems and reusable UI frameworks
• Enterprise dashboards and workflow applications
• Responsive and high-performance web applications
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to deliver seamless user experiences
• Define frontend engineering standards, performance optimization strategies, and UI scalability practices

Platform Architecture & Scalability

• Design scalable enterprise platform architectures integrating frontend, backend, cloud, and distributed systems
• Drive API strategy, platform integrations, developer experience, and engineering productivity initiatives
• Ensure platform security, governance, reliability, monitoring, and operational readiness
• Lead cloud adoption and modernization strategies across enterprise applications

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner closely with Product, Design, Platform Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Business teams
• Align engineering execution with business priorities and product roadmaps
• Drive stakeholder management, prioritization, technical planning, and delivery governance
• Lead large-scale enterprise transformation and platform engineering initiatives

Required Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Software Engineering / Platform Engineering / Full Stack Engineering
• Strong leadership experience managing large engineering organizations and distributed teams
• Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-grade backend and frontend platforms
• Deep expertise in:
• Distributed systems
• Backend architecture
• Modern frontend frameworks
• Cloud-native platforms
• Scalable APIs and microservices
• Enterprise platform engineering
• Strong experience driving architecture discussions, technical strategy, and engineering transformation programs
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills
