About The Role
Peraton seeks a Senior Data Scientist/Engineer to support PACOM J6 with the design, build, and sustainment of an MRT-C baseline and all decision-support products.
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD or Honolulu, HI
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all data architecture and pipeline work conforms with DoD data standards and supports the USPACOM Azure cloud environment.
- Define data models, schema, storage constructs, access controls, classification handling, and integration points with USPACOM-approved tools and platforms to support the data architecture design for the Theater-wide MRT-C baseline
- Design, build, and document data pipelines and ETL processes to ingest, normalize, and integrate terrain data within 90 days, including a cross-domain information sharing plan.
- Support the QA reviews of all baseline data and produce a Baseline QA Report with each baseline delivery and each subsequent refresh, documenting data completeness, accuracy, consistency, and VAULTIS conformance.
- Provide input to and support the development of POM/FYDP resource proposal inputs in accordance with J8 guidance and Commander's guidance
- Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with Ph.D. Will consider HS+16 or Associates +14 years of experience.
- Requires strong technical and computational skills - engineering, physics, mathematics, coupled with the ability to code design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using advanced unstructured and semi-structured data analysis techniques and utilizing high-performance computing environments.
- Has the ability to utilize advance tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in complex data and deliver recommendations for business and analytic decisions.
- Knowledge of applicable cyber defense policies, regulations, and compliance documents specifically related to cyber defense auditing
- Active TS/SCI clearance or the ability to obtain SCI
- U.S. Citizenship required
- Experience with software development, either an open-source enterprise software development stack (Java/Linux/Ruby/Python) or a Windows development stack (.NET, C#, C++).
- Experience with data transport and transformation APIs and technologies such as JSON, XML, XSLT, JDBC, SOAP and REST.
- Experience with Cloud-based data analysis tools including Hadoop and Mahout, Acumulo, Hive, Impala, Pig, and similar.
- Experience with visual analytic tools like Microsoft Pivot, Palantir, or Visual Analytics.
- Experience with open-source textual processing such as Lucene, Sphinx, Nutch or Solr. Experience with entity extraction and conceptual search technologies such as LSI, LDA, etc. Experience with machine learning, algorithm analysis, and data clustering.
