- Implement robust ELT/ETL patterns into BigQuery, ensuring analytics-ready datasets and clear transformation logic (SQL/Python).
- Apply data modeling best practices for analytical workloads and support performance/cost optimization
- Orchestrate workflows and dependencies using Cloud Composer (managed Apache Airflow) to ensure reliable scheduling, monitoring, and recovery patterns.
- Ensure data quality and reliability through validation checks, monitoring, and operational controls (SLAs, error handling, documentation).
- Troubleshoot production issues and optimize pipelines for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
- At least 3 years of experience in Data Engineering, delivering data pipelines and analytics solutions (consulting/project-based delivery is a plus).
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python, including transformation logic, data manipulation, and debugging.
- Hands-on experience with the Google Cloud data ecosystem, typically including BigQuery and services such as Dataflow and Pub/Sub
- Experience (or strong familiarity) with workflow orchestration using Cloud Composer / Apache Airflow.
- Solid understanding of modern data platform concepts (data lake/warehouse/lakehouse patterns) and data modeling for analytics consumption.
- Familiarity with DataOps/DevOps concepts applied to data engineering (CI/CD exposure, Git-based workflows, automated testing/quality checks).
- Strong communication skills and stakeholder management; able to explain technical topics to non-technical audiences.
- Proactive, structured problem-solving approach, ownership mindset, and ability to work in ambiguous environments.
- Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written).
- At Capgemini Portugal we have a flexible and dynamic work environment. Flexibility enables a better work-life balance and gives more flexibility to the employee to manage the working hours, as well if he works at the office or remotely, according with the company’s hybrid work policy;
