Senior Data Engineer - Retail / Fashion / e-commerce

Synchro have partnered with a long term client and well-known, boutique fashion retail brand to recruit an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the evolution of an existing data platform.

This role requires an experienced Data Engineer who enjoys working across teams to influence strategy, design scalable data architecture and use AI to redefine how modern data teams operate.

You will be experienced in data platform architecture, customer insight, machine learning and commercial strategy.

You will have prior experience within e-commerce, retail or fashion. You will have a broad technical skillset and have advanced SQL and data modelling skills, as well as strong hands-on experience with dbt. Further required experience includes modern cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, with BI platforms including Power BI, Looker, Qlik, Preset or Superset.

Due to the nature of this role and this organsiation, you will have strong stakeholder management experience and have the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Any experience with using Python (or another programming language) alongside SQL is highly desirable, as is practical experience using AI-assisted development tools.

This role will be based in Clapham, South West London and offers hybrid remote working, with the expectation to be in the office 2/3 days per week.

Salary: £70,000 - £80,000 plus benefits.
