Your Part of the Adventure

We stand on the brink of a massive growth acceleration and are fully data-driven. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will join our Data Insights team and build the foundation upon which the entire company makes its decisions: a robust Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) and scalable data pipelines that convert raw signals into strategic intelligence.

What does this entail exactly? 🔍

• Builder & Visionary: You anticipate our scalability needs for the next 12–24 months, but your real focus is leading the charge in setting up, coding, and tuning this infrastructure. You determine the speed and stability of our data flows.
• Databricks Ownership: You are the owner and primary builder of our data platform, with Databricks serving as the central hub for all our data. You are hands-on with database administration, core pipeline architecture, and performance tuning to lower query execution times.
• Integrations & Governance: You collaborate directly with the Head of Data to translate vision into stable code, build new API integrations, and seamlessly connect tools like Segment (CDP) to power customer and market segmentation for Sales and CS. You ensure our core platform hits a 99.9% uptime stability while complying with all security and privacy guidelines.
• Technical Authority: Beyond your steering role, you act as a technical mentor within the team, providing on-the-job support to help junior and medior engineers grow.
• Foundation for Scaling: Working right in the middle of our company scaling phase, you deliver the rock-solid infrastructure that keeps our rapid growth manageable and profitable. You are a true connector between execution and technology.

Within our data team, we are continuously expanding our toolkit with a world-class data foundation and the latest cloud technologies. We work with, among other things:

• Data Platform & Core Architecture: Databricks as our central storage and hub, structured according to the Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold).
• Pipeline Engineering & Tuning: Complex ETL processes, robust pipeline architectures, API wrappers, and advanced performance tuning systems.
• Customer Data & Analytics: Segment (CDP) as our central source for segmentation and behavioral data.
• Collaboration: Linear, Confluence, and Slack.

What We Expect from You

• An experienced, hands-on Data Engineer recognized as an expert in mission-critical data infrastructure with a clear vision for scaling platforms.
• Deep experience with Databricks, pipeline engineering, building API connections, and complex ETL processes.
• Demonstrated knowledge of database administration, setting up a Medallion Architecture, and extensive performance tuning.
• A proactive Craft Authority who anticipates scalability issues but loves hands-on building and mentoring colleagues just as much.
• Analytically minded, flexible, eager to learn, and always up-to-date with the latest industry developments.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, preferably within a SaaS environment.
