Job Description
As a Senior Data Engineer within our Digital (Data) business unit, you will join the Finance & Ad Revenue Reporting squad. In this role, you will build, enhance, and maintain the data products and models that power Financial and Ad Revenue Reporting across the wider Nine group. You will centralise data from enterprise systems, order management platforms, and ad servers into a single source of truth to enable data-informed decision-making and business forecasting.
Day To Day You Will
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable ETL data pipelines and robust data models that align with business requirements.
- Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and proactive monitoring/alerting systems to ensure data accuracy and resolve incidents.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Product, Data Science, Analysis, and Business stakeholders) to translate complex needs into effective data solutions.
- Contribute to the overall technical vision of the data platform and lead cloud infrastructure and workflow automation initiatives.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, championing continuous learning, code reviews, and technical excellence across the team.
- Strong technical background in Python, SQL, data modeling, and workflow tools like DBT and Apache Airflow.
- Proven experience building cloud data infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, experience with CI/CD or Terraform, and familiar with finance/accounting concepts.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset to solve complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical solutions clearly to both technical teams and non-technical business partners.
