How we work: pods and crafts
We recently moved our Product and Tech teams to a pod model, and it changes the shape of this job in ways worth understanding before you apply.
- A pod is a small group, 1 to 4 people, that owns a single mission end to end: from scoping and building through cleaning, enablement and watching adoption. Pods form around a mission and dissolve when it's done. Everyone is a pod owner, from the most junior person to the most senior, because ownership is the point.
- Your craft is your main area of expertise: Design, Tech, or Data. It's the discipline you go deep in.
- Your domain is your product-area home, the part of our software suite you know best. Pods change with every mission; your craft and your domain don't.
At Launchmetrics, the core of our Metrics value comes from the data we deliver through our SaaS solution. Our client buy data as much as they buy access to a platform.
The Data Collection and Enrichment domain is in charge of collecting the data, enriching it and making it accessible in an efficient and reliable manner to the other domains. If you like the idea of owning a problem end to end, care about data quality the way other people care about pixel alignment, and want to work on forward thinking and AI centric projects, this role is for you.
As a Senior Builder here, you'll own missions on that domain from scoping to adoption, and you'll be one of the references for building our Data strategy, with the support of our VP Product. You operate as a fully autonomous pod owner.
What You'll Do
- Talk to your users. A lot. Turn the needs of customers and internal teams into product requirements that can be measured, and work with engineers day to day to deliver them.
- Own missions end to end. Scope, build with the pod, enable and monitor adoption for Data Platform missions, keeping a clear source of truth so everyone can see where things stand.
- Master our data flow. Work across acquisition, enrichment (manual, rule-based and AI-based) and management (datalake, APIs) to make data delivery faster and more reliable.
- Measure what matters. Define the metrics and KPIs for adoption and performance of what you build, then actually analyse them and feed the learnings back into prioritisation.
- Keep an eye on the market. Stay close to the competitive landscape and where brand measurement is heading, and let that sharpen your thinking.
- Collaborate with stakeholders. Collaborate with engineers, business stakeholders and leadership, speaking the right language to each.
- Raise the bar around you. Contribute to shared tooling and processes, and help the data domain get sharper over time.
- Experience. Around 5 years in product management or data management, ideally shipping alongside engineers in a SaaS environment.
- Deep in Data. You're fluent in SQL and comfortable with data modelling, pipelines and APIs. You understand the data lifecycle, from acquisition to delivery, and you can assess and improve the quality of what flows through it. A few years working on data, analytics or data-product problems alongside engineers.
- Business sense. You understand our industry and our customers well enough to know why one kind of data matters to them and another doesn't, and you're curious about the branding challenges fashion and luxury brands face.
- A real discovery instinct. You start from the problem, not the solution, and you're happy talking to users and turning fuzzy needs into something measurable.
- Self-sufficient across crafts. You're not a designer or a PM, but you can do enough product thinking and rough interface reasoning to keep a small pod moving without waiting for someone else.
- Clear and trusted. You communicate simply with both technical and business people, follow through on what you own, and people come to rely on you as the reference for your scope.
- Clear communication and fluent English. You can explain your thinking, you're comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and you're keen to learn. Our team is international; other languages are a welcome bonus.
As a Senior Builder, you can already pick up the Ops add-on (owning a shared tool, or a Claude skill) and some Strategy responsibilities. We're looking for someone who can grow into leading our Data strategy, so there are a few more stages ahead. As it progresses, expect a deeper focus on Strategy, along with new areas like Management and Client Representativity.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS
- Intro call with Talent Acquisition, to get to know each other (30 min).
- Meet & Greet with Hiring Manager on the team, the domain and the pod model.
- Data and Product case you prepare, then present to a couple of Builders: a real data problem, scoped and reasoned through.
- Team fit with the engineers and peers you'd build alongside.
