Who You Are

• At least 3 years of professional frontend development experience.
• Solid in React and Next.js, comfortable with modern tooling like Webpack and Babel.
• Write clean HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with daily TypeScript usage.
• Hands-on experience with CSS frameworks like Tailwind and unit testing libraries like Jest and React Testing Library.
• Build responsive, accessible web applications and work comfortably in Scrum sprints.
• Read technical documentation in English and communicate clearly with distributed teams.

Puente Talent Partners connects top Latin American professionals with growing US companies. This role is for one of our US clients, and you would be joining their team directly while being supported by Puente through the hiring process. Our client is an edtech company with strong presence across Latin America and a robust engineering culture. Their product teams work cross-functionally using agile methodologies to build scalable digital solutions for education. They are currently executing a year-long platform migration, with engineering teams shipping sprint by sprint to modernize their stack. You join a 13-person engineering team leading this migration, working alongside product managers and fellow engineers in a collaborative agile environment. This is an execution role where you take concrete problems, solve them, and ensure quality in every delivery.

About the Role

What you'll own

• Develop and migrate frontend code for digital products into the company's React and Next.js stack.
• Build solutions the team needs, sprint by sprint, meeting delivery commitments in Scrum.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team alongside product managers and engineers.
• Contribute to frontend technology decisions and architecture discussions.
• Identify and resolve complex problems while maintaining code quality and test coverage with Jest and React Testing Library.
• Participate in code reviews and help raise engineering standards across the 13-person team.

This is a full-time independent contractor role paying $2,500 to $3,000 USD monthly, working Monday through Friday 9 AM to 6 PM UTC-3. You join a team with robust engineering culture and clear growth path from semi-senior to senior engineer through mentorship and architecture contribution.

What success looks like

• Ongoing: consistently deliver high-quality frontend work on schedule; contribute to architecture decisions; mentor junior engineers and unblock teammates.
