They need someone to come in and be shown something 1-2 times and feel comfortable to then handle the work.
Responsibilities:
• Evaluate, maintain, and upgrade operating systems and software to ensure server security and performance.
• Design, develop, and maintain the physical infrastructure, network, and layout of data centers.
• Provide architectural frameworks for servers, hardware, peripherals, and network connections, implementing industry standards and best practices.
• Ensure adequate capacity for corporate computing needs by monitoring and identifying capacity trends.
• Deliver technical support, provisioning, and automation for compute resources across various operating systems and hardware in both public and private cloud environments.
• Oversee operating efficiency, stability, and security of systems and data, responding to outages and resolving technical issues promptly.
• Prepare and deliver regular status, operational, incident, and change reports.
• Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements:
• Experience managing and patching server assets, including virtual hosting platforms.
• Strong expertise with Linux
• Proficiency in configuration management tools (e.g., SCCM, Ansible).
• Strong scripting skills, particularly in PowerShell and Python.
• Experience packaging and deploying software to ensure compliance with the latest releases.
