Linux Platform Engineer

Our client is establishing a new team in Kuala Lumpur and is hiring Linux Software Operations Engineer

This role is not a Network expert, but more of a talented software management person, who knows how to build and release Software and real time health checks

Initial training will be onsite for 3 to 4 weeks starting at 8:00am local time (professional working day), primarily Monday through Friday. After the training period, it will be hybrid working onsite and the Contractor is expected to work in a weekend rotation due to the nature of trading and maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities:

1. Primary focus - Trading software application installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
2. Secondary - Monitoring and alerting of hardware and network. Physical/Virtual server and network installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related.
• Strong Linux (RHEL) experience, and hands-on experience working in a Linux software product environment.
• RHCE certification is an added advantage.
• Good knowledge of bash scripting utilities like awk, sed, grep, find, tar, gzip
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in low-latency trading applications is a plus
