We are seeking a talented and innovative Packaging Structural Designer specialising in carton board to join our client in Bradford. This role is crucial for designing, developing, and optimizing packaging solutions that not only meet customer requirements but also align with their manufacturing capabilities and sustainability goals. The successful candidate will create structural designs, produce technical drawings and prototypes, and collaborate across teams to deliver cost-effective and visually appealing packaging.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Design and develop carton board packaging solutions for a diverse range of products.
• Utilize CAD software such as ArtiosCAD, Impact CAD, or similar to create structural concepts.
• Produce detailed technical drawings, die-lines, and specifications for manufacturing.
• Develop prototypes and samples for customer evaluation and testing.
• Ensure designs meet customer requirements, quality standards, and production capabilities.
• Optimize packaging for material efficiency, strength, cost, and sustainability.
• Collaborate closely with sales, production, printing, and quality teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Liaise with customers to understand their packaging needs and provide technical design support.
• Conduct packaging performance testing and recommend improvements.
• Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate design documentation and revision control.
• Stay updated on packaging trends, materials, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Packaging Technology, Product Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in structural packaging design, preferably with folding carton or carton board packaging.
• Proficiency in packaging CAD software such as ArtiosCAD, Impact CAD, or similar.
• Strong understanding of carton board materials, die-cutting, folding, gluing, and printing processes.
• Knowledge of packaging manufacturing methods and production constraints.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent structural design and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Creative thinking with practical manufacturing knowledge.
• Good communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
