About The Department

Haulogy works to digitalize the energy sector and accelerate the green energy transition while lowering energy costs for everyone. Behind that work are the platforms our clients rely on every day, along with the internal systems and tools our own teams depend on, and keeping all of it running is where you come in. You will join our internal IT department, responsible for the infrastructure, security, and reliability of these systems across multiple hosting platforms, playing a hands-on role in their smooth day-to-day operation, from production environments to the endpoints and tooling used across the company.

The Team

You will join a motivated team of infrastructure, DevOps, and technical operations engineers supporting mission-critical SaaS platforms for grid operators, suppliers, and other energy market players. Our systems run across a hybrid environment, including cloud and managed hosting, and the team combines classic systems operations with modern automation practices.

You will be a key operational contributor: the person who reliably executes the day-to-day technical tasks that keep our systems, endpoints, and services working, and who can be counted on when something needs to get done properly.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on, dependable Technical Operations Engineer to strengthen our operations capacity. You will handle a broad range of operational tasks across our customer-facing SaaS platforms, our internal systems, and end-user tooling.

This is an execution-focused role for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, takes ownership of the tasks assigned to them, and values doing things properly and documenting them clearly. You will work closely with our DevOps Engineers and System Administrators, and act as a point of support for other teams across the company, including our Support teams when incidents affect customer environments, on the systems, tooling, and access they rely on, covering both server operations and classic systems and endpoint management.

Responsibilities

  • Systems and Database Operations: Perform operational tasks across our hosting platforms, such as database dump and restore, backups, monitoring, and routine maintenance of production and internal environments.
  • Certificate and Access Management: Manage TLS/SSL certificates, handle whitelisting, and maintain access and configuration for internal and client-facing services.
  • Endpoint and Device Management: Manage company laptops and devices through our Mobile Device Management (MDM) tool, including enrollment, configuration, security policies, and lifecycle management, and handle device and access setup when colleagues join, move, or leave.
  • Software Deployment: Deploy and maintain our client-facing SaaS platforms and internal services, ensuring consistent releases, configuration, integration setup, and environment management.
  • System Administration: Administer and maintain core infrastructure, including Linux servers and system services, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across all environments.
  • Incident Support: Participate in the investigation and resolution of technical and security incidents, including providing technical support to our Support teams when incidents affect customer environments, and follow up on remediation tasks.
  • Automation: Where relevant, automate recurring operational tasks to reduce manual and repetitive work.
  • Documentation: Produce and maintain clear operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures so tasks are repeatable and not dependent on a single person.

Essential Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in systems administration, technical operations, or a similar hands-on role.
  • Systems Fundamentals: Strong Linux administration skills, along with a solid understanding of networking, backups, and system security.
  • Hosting Experience: Practical experience operating servers and services across hosting platforms, whether cloud or managed hosting.
  • Operational Mindset: Reliable, methodical, and detail-oriented, with a genuine sense of ownership over the tasks you handle.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Practical troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve operational issues and follow through to completion.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Good interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a small, collaborative team.
  • Fluency in French and English.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience managing devices through an MDM solution, and installing and configuring applications.
  • Experience administering SaaS tools, including user accounts, licenses, and access.
  • Experience with certificate management and PKI concepts.
  • Comfortable with scripting and a reflex to automate recurring work where it makes sense.
  • Familiarity with version control (Git).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (such as AWS) and infrastructure automation.
  • Experience with GitOps and automation tools (e.g., Argo CD).
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana).
  • Familiarity with containers (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience in the energy sector.
