Indexed description

Imagine supporting a team building business-critical financial software, where shaving off every microsecond of processing time matters, code quality is very high, and you're surrounded by talented colleagues who care deeply about what they do.

Does this vision put a smile on your face? Then a role as a Systems Administrator at Alipes might be right for you.

About the Role

As our new Systems Administrator, you will be part of our SysAdmin team and work closely alongside the wider Tech team, which consists of approximately 20 Software Engineers focused primarily on developing in-house financial software in C#.

You will work closely with and report to the Senior Systems Administrator and join our team of 4 full- and part-time colleagues, with whom you will collaborate on infrastructure projects as well as general IT operations, such as support and maintenance.

The environment consists of both Windows and Linux based devices, so scripting in PowerShell and Bash are important skills for delivering solutions.

Some of the main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:

  • Configuring and maintaining workstations and servers for test and production environments across hybrid infrastructure, including on-premises, cloud, and exchange co-located systems, using Active Directory, Ansible, Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Monitoring, analysing, and troubleshooting infrastructure, system, and application logs using the Elastic Stack (ELK), to support operational visibility and incident investigation.
  • Working with software engineers to design, build, maintain, and automate CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, TeamCity, and related tools, supporting reliable build, test, release, and deployment workflows.
  • Supporting the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of internal and public network infrastructure, including Juniper hardware running Junos OS.
  • Maintaining technical documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures for systems, infrastructure, and support processes.
  • Participating in our support rotation every 2–3 weeks, providing end-user and system support during normal business hours.

About the Team

All of this will happen in an informal atmosphere where technical discussions are valued, and you are encouraged to take ownership of, and pride in, your work. You will impact the direction of the team, prioritize your work, and choose the tools that get the job done.

We enjoy collaboration and are always willing to lend a helping hand. We are working alongside two other teams of quantitative analysts and economists that conceive the mathematical models. What makes this constellation work great is that all of the individual team members write code and understand that a seemingly trivial change can actually require a lot of work, and vice versa.

About You

  • 5+ years of experience in systems administration, with at least 2 years with Ansible and container technologies such as Kubernetes or Docker.
  • Experience with PowerShell and/or Bash scripting.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments and Active Directory.
  • Ability to thrive with both self-driven infrastructure tasks and user-driven support requests.
  • Flexibility to occasionally work weekends for tasks that need to be carried out outside business hours.

Nice to have

  • Experience building, maintaining, or troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience supporting or managing network infrastructure, particularly environments built around Juniper hardware and Junos OS.
  • Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments, including basic database operations and backups.
  • Experience working with cloud computing platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
  • Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions such as Veritas NetBackup.

What we can offer you

  • Competitive benefits, including pension, health insurance, and 30 days of vacation.
  • A modern office in Copenhagen (Nordhavn) with a flexible hybrid work model.
  • A flat hierarchy with high levels of trust, autonomy, and freedom to make decisions.
  • A valued role with unique responsibilities and plenty of room for creativity.
  • Fast feedback and recognition of your contributions in a high-growth company.
  • Strong team spirit - successes are celebrated with company events and trips.

Practicalities

Interviews will take place in weeks 34 and 35.
