Senior DevOps Engineer — help shape the future of retail work in Europe
SameSystem is the leading Workforce Management platform for retail, used by 250,000+ people across 15,000+ locations in 24 markets. For over 15 years, brands like Bestseller, Pandora, IKEA, Magasin, Matas, Søstrene Grene, and Normal have relied on us to build fairer schedules and run smarter operations. We're growing fast across Europe, and with our Next-Gen Planning platform we intend to become the industry leader.
Next-Gen Planning combines algorithmic solvers, machine-learning forecasting, and LLM-driven employee communication to let thousands of shops run their planning fully automatically. All of it runs on infrastructure that has to be fast, secure, and always available - and that's where we need strong DevOps engineers. You'll work closely with the developers and specialists behind our applications, solvers, and models, and build the platform that keeps everything running smoothly at scale.
What you'll do
- Own and evolve our infrastructure - Kubernetes, Docker/Swarm, MySQL, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, Linux (Ubuntu), and Scaleway (Cloud) - weighing the trade-offs of each design choice
- Administer and optimise our CI/CD processes, including a Jenkins setup with ~300 nodes and ~300 jobs
- Keep a sharp eye on system health through monitoring and observability - Zabbix, ELK, Graylog, and Prometheus
- Strengthen our security posture with OpenVAS vulnerability scanning, Wazuh intrusion detection, and log analysis
- Implement AI-driven automation to optimise processes and reduce toil across the platform
- Advise teammates and leadership on how to make the platform more reliable and the infrastructure healthier
- Share what you learn, and help raise the bar for the whole team
What we're looking for
- Several years of hands-on experience with Linux, Bash, Docker, MySQL, and AWS
- Strong knowledge of MySQL and MongoDB
- Jenkins Pipeline and Job DSL expertise
- Familiarity with Nginx, BIND, Postfix, Keepalived, and GlusterFS
- A passion for engineering and building reliable, high-availability systems
- An analytical mindset - strong problem-solving skills and expertise in root cause analysis
- A team player who collaborates, shares knowledge, and supports colleagues
- Nice to have: Kubernetes, libvirt/KVM, Golang, Python, Ruby, Groovy, PostgreSQL, ELK, or HAProxy
What you'll get
- Competitive salary from DKK 70,000/month, plus pension
- A place where good ideas ship fast and innovation actually drives the roadmap
- Real room to grow, in a team that values expertise and collaboration
- A high-trust, flexible culture with plenty of freedom in how you work
- Social life beyond the desk: employee-run clubs (sauna, sports, food tours, etc.) and regular parties
- Unlimited snacks, fruit, coffee, soda, energy and protein drinks
Practical
- Location: Rentemestervej 2A, 2400 København NV
- Team: You'll be part of the Infrastructure/DevOps team of three people
