Linux Programmer / VM & System Administrator
(2–3 Years Experience)
Job Description
engine room of an ISP and its Data Centre operations. If you’ve spent a couple of years wrangling Linux systems, building and maintaining virtualized environments, and keeping data centre platforms steady under pressure, you’ll feel right at home. Candidates with prior Data Centre Management experience and strong Linux exposure will be given preference.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and optimize Linux-based systems and tools for internal and customer-facing services.
Manage and administer VM infrastructure (KVM, Proxmox, VMware, or similar).
Perform system monitoring, performance tuning, patching, and troubleshooting for production environments.
Automate routine tasks using shell scripting or Python.
Support deployment, configuration, and management of servers in Data Centre environments.
Work closely with the NOC and SysAdmin teams to ensure high availability and reliability of services.
Implement security best practices across Linux systems and virtualized environments
Maintain documentation of systems, processes, and architectural changes.
Requirements
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, or Debian).
Solid understanding of virtualization platforms (KVM, VMware, Proxmox, OpenStack).
Knowledge of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewall basics, etc.
Experience with shell scripting (Bash), automation, and basic programming (Python preferred).
Familiarity with data centre operations: server hardware, storage systems, racks, monitoring tools.
Competency in system performance tuning, log analysis, and incident troubleshooting.
Understanding of version control systems (Git).
Exposure to configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet) is a plus.
Experience with security hardening and access control practices.
Training / Project Done
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Team player with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.
Certifications
Certifications such as RHCE, RHCSA, Linux+, VMware VCP, or equivalent are an advantage.
