Job Description
The Lab Engineer (Linux) will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Linux-based infrastructure within the Networks Laboratory. The role focuses on supporting teaching and research activities related to networking, including Cisco Certified Network Associate labs, virtualization environments, and associated software systems
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux systems across lab environments.
- Support and maintain lab setups for CCNA courses, simulations, and practical sessions.
- Deploy and manage virtualization platforms used in teaching and research.
- Assist faculty members and students with technical support during lab sessions.
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, software, and lab procedures.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong experience with Linux system administration (Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS, etc.).
- Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, VirtualBox, or KVM).
- Basic scripting skills (Bash or similar).
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
