How you’ll LEAD:
We are currently seeking an eager and collaborative DevOps Engineer / Platform Engineer to join our Platform Architecture & Engineering team. This role will be responsible for implementing, automating, supporting, and operating cloud-based platforms and software delivery solutions across the enterprise. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with modern DevOps practices, cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, and CI/CD platforms.
How you’ll CREATE:
Working as part of a cross-functional team, this position will help maintain and optimize cloud-native solutions across Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, and other enterprise technologies. The role will work extensively with GitHub and GitHub Actions to support source control management, CI/CD pipelines, automation, repository governance, and secure software delivery practices. Responsibilities include implementing infrastructure-as-code solutions, supporting cloud platform operations, integrating security and compliance controls into development workflows, and assisting with vulnerability remediation efforts.
The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Architecture, Security, Platform Engineering, and Application Development teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and secure solutions while helping improve developer productivity, operational efficiency, and the overall maturity of UMG’s cloud and software engineering platforms.
Bring your VIBE:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 4+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or related infrastructure/software engineering roles.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or comparable automation platforms.
- Experience working with cloud platforms, including Google Cloud Platform (GCP), AWS, or Microsoft Azure.
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred) and infrastructure automation best practices.
- Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Proficiency with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate operational and engineering workflows.
- Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, networking, identity and access management (IAM), and platform operations.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, including integrating security scanning, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and compliance controls into CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience using Git version control and collaborating in Agile software development environments.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure and application issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner effectively across Architecture, Security, Platform Engineering, and Application Development teams.
Preferred:
- Experience administering GitHub Enterprise, including repository governance, organization policies, and GitHub Actions runners.
- Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud environments across GCP and AWS.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, Cloud Logging, Datadog, or Splunk.
- Experience building internal developer platforms or self-service engineering capabilities that improve developer productivity.
- Cloud certifications (Google Cloud, AWS, or Kubernetes) are a plus.
- Experience supporting enterprise software delivery platforms and modern SDLC practices.
