As a Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud environments. You will work closely with development, security, and operations teams to streamline software delivery, improve system reliability, and ensure the highest standards of security and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
- Build, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and reliable software delivery.
- Deploy, manage, and monitor containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.
- Manage source code repositories and branching strategies using Git.
- Implement configuration management solutions using tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Monitor system health, performance, and availability using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or similar monitoring platforms.
- Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot deployment issues and optimize application performance.
- Implement infrastructure and application security best practices, including access control, vulnerability management, and compliance standards.
- Ensure system reliability, disaster recovery readiness, and high availability across production environments.
- Document infrastructure, deployment procedures, and operational best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer, Cloud Engineer, or in a similar role.
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Shell (Bash), or Ruby.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Strong knowledge of Git and modern version control practices.
- Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Strong experience with one or more cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or equivalent solutions.
- Strong understanding of infrastructure and application security best practices.
- Experience implementing and maintaining security controls across cloud infrastructure and application deployments.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience working with microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of DevSecOps principles and security automation.
- Experience with Linux system administration.
- Familiarity with cloud networking, IAM, and security services.
- Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, etc.) are an advantage.
