Linux Engineer

Job Overview

We are looking for a Developer with strong UNIX/Linux experience who can work on application support, automation, and database-related activities in an enterprise environment.

The role is a mix of Linux, Shell Scripting, SQL, and Production Support. You will be responsible for supporting business-critical applications, troubleshooting issues, automating processes, monitoring batch jobs, and working closely with development and database teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Shell Scripts (Bash/KornShell) in UNIX/Linux environments.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, validation, troubleshooting, and reporting.
• Monitor and support batch jobs, scheduled processes, and production applications.
• Investigate and resolve production issues related to applications, databases, and file processing.
• Perform SQL query tuning and performance optimization.
• Manage file transfers, file processing, and job scheduling activities.
• Work closely with Application Development, Database, and Infrastructure teams.
• Participate in application deployments, releases, and operational support activities.
• Ensure data integrity, system stability, and compliance with operational standards.

Required Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with UNIX/Linux environments.
• Strong Shell Scripting experience (Bash/KornShell).
• Strong SQL skills including joins, subqueries, stored procedures, and query optimization.
• Experience with Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server databases.
• Experience supporting production environments and troubleshooting incidents.
• Knowledge of cron jobs, batch processing, file systems, and process management
