We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Software Engineer II Developer to join our growing medical device company. The ideal candidate has strong experience in software development, software integration, container orchestration, cloud deployment, API development, database solutions, and secure, reliable software delivery.
The primary objective of this role is to design, develop, integrate, deploy, and maintain robust software systems that meet business requirements. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements, confirm technical feasibility, contribute to application architecture, and deliver scalable integration solutions.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and integrate software solutions that support business and customer needs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and refine technical requirements.
- Analyze business requirements with growing independence and partner with business teams to ensure technical feasibility and alignment.
- Develop and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes-based technologies.
- Implement cloud deployments and contribute to scalable, secure, and reliable software delivery on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
- Design and develop APIs, database solutions, integration services, and cross-system data flows.
- Participate in application architecture design activities and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Write high-quality code that emphasizes simplicity, clarity, testability, maintainability, security, and performance.
- Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and suggest changes as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software development, integration, deployment, performance, and reliability issues.
- Document software designs, technical processes, integration patterns, and development procedures.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance where appropriate.
- Participate in DevOps, CI/CD, automation, and infrastructure improvement efforts that support developer productivity and reliable delivery.
- Monitor system performance from a developer perspective and implement software improvements where needed.
- Remain willing to learn programming languages, frameworks, tools, and technologies required by the project.
Primary Skills (Must Have)
- Software development and software integration experience, preferably in enterprise or regulated environments.
- Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including Go, Scala, Java, Python, and Node.js.
- Strong API design and development skills, including integration patterns, messaging concepts, web services, and cross-system data flows.
- Database design, relational database concepts, query execution, and data-management experience.
- Containerization and container orchestration experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Cloud platform experience, including AWS, Azure, or similar services.
- DevOps and CI/CD familiarity, including deployment pipelines, environment configuration, and automated delivery practices.
- Ability to read, understand, and improve application code, system workflows, and distributed-system behavior.
- Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using logs, command-line tools, dashboards, monitoring data, and observability platforms.
- Excellent analytical problem-solving, communication, collaboration, documentation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in Agile, fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Knowledge of domain-driven design (DDD), test-driven development (TDD), and acceptance testing practices.
- Solid knowledge of networking concepts and cloud deployment strategies.
- Experience with Grafana dashboards or other monitoring and observability tools as part of software reliability and operational awareness.
- Experience with both development and operational aspects of software projects without primary ownership of Level 1 support operations.
- Experience identifying automation opportunities for build, test, deployment, monitoring, and alerting processes.
- Ability to translate business priorities and technical requirements into maintainable software solutions.
- Demonstrated ownership mindset and commitment to technical excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in software development and integration.
- Experience working across development teams, platform teams, business stakeholders, and technical partners to deliver integrated software solutions.
