Senior Backend Engineer

About The Role

We are looking for an engineering mindset which brings fresh ideas from various areas, including large-scale platform design, analytics, data structures, security practices, large-scale data retrieval and processing environments. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be working closely with product managers, QA engineers, and designers, software engineers, and will be responsible for designing, building, deploying and scaling various products under the umbrella of CleverTap Platform.

What Will You Do

• You will be responsible for writing server side scripts, backend APIs and converting business logic into performant and scalable code.
• You will be working on adding AI features to our product suite, enhancing our customers’ experiences on the platform.
• The day to day consists of optimising servers for speed and stability, implementing secure coding practices, generating reusable code libraries and generating data storage solutions.
• Apart from this, you will also be involved with the product team directly in deciding the requirements, estimating delivery date for a particular feature and documenting the technical details for developing it.

What are we looking for?

Must Have

• 4 to 6 years of experience in backend development (Designing, developing, testing and deploying large scale applications with one of the JVM languages or other server side technologies)
• Exposure to building AI augmented features that work at scale.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Attention to detail and curiosity to learn.
• Ability to meet communicated deadlines and release project with minimal bugs
• Good knowledge of backend development which includes but isn't limited to API development, server side scripting, OOPs concepts and Java

Good To Have

• Preferably have 3+ years of experience working with Java
• Hands-on with Mongo DB, Redis, Opensearch and AWS
• Familiarity with front side platforms such Javascript, HTML5, CSS3 and Vue
• Prior knowledge of FCM and APNS services

Measures Of Success

• Writing quality and bug free code adhering to the functional and non-functional requirements
• Follow standard practices (Unit Tests, Reduce technical debt, Code Coverage, Integration Test, etc)
• Excellent troubleshooting skills. Familiar with application profiling, performance tuning
