Our Sustainability Architecture Group is building the next generation of AI-enabled sustainability software. We leverage modern cloud technologies, intelligent automation, and AI-assisted software engineering practices to accelerate delivery while maintaining enterprise-grade quality, security, and reliability. Engineers are expected to embrace AI development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and other AI-assisted engineering platforms as part of their daily workflow to improve productivity, code quality, testing, documentation, and software design.
Senior Software Engineers play a critical role in shaping both our software platform and engineering practices. They contribute to architectural decisions, build scalable distributed systems on Azure, mentor other developers, and help establish modern AI-assisted development standards across the organization.

What will you do?
- Design, build, and maintain cloud-native SaaS applications supporting energy and sustainability management.
- Develop high-quality software using AI-assisted development tools including Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and similar technologies to improve engineering efficiency and software quality.
- Partner with architects to design scalable, resilient, event-driven microservices and APIs.
- Build secure REST APIs and distributed services using .NET and Azure.
- Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and technical decision making.
- Leverage AI to accelerate software development activities including implementation, refactoring, automated testing, documentation, debugging, and code reviews while maintaining engineering excellence.
- Develop and integrate AI-enabled platform capabilities including intelligent automation, agentic workflows, and modern cloud services where appropriate.
- Collaborate with cross-functional product, UX, data, and platform teams throughout the software lifecycle.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code following modern engineering best practices.
- Participate in peer code reviews and continuously improve engineering standards and development workflows.
- Troubleshoot production issues and contribute to operational excellence through observability, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Stay current with advances in cloud computing, AI-assisted software development, distributed systems, and modern engineering practices.
- Strong experience building enterprise applications using Angular, C#, .NET, and .NET Core.
- Experience using modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar coding assistants as part of the software development lifecycle.
- Passion for learning and adopting emerging AI capabilities to improve engineering productivity while maintaining high standards of quality and security.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design, and distributed systems.
- Experience building RESTful APIs and cloud-native applications.
- Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
This job might be for you if you have:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Extensive experience developing enterprise applications.
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and distributed application architectures.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications on Azure or another major cloud platform.
- Experience working in collaborative Agile teams.
- Experience using AI-assisted software engineering tools to improve software delivery, code quality, testing, or developer productivity.
- Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and modern engineering practices.
- Knowledge of event-driven architectures, messaging systems, and microservices is a plus.
- Previous experience in energy, sustainability, or industrial software is beneficial but not required.
- Experience with AI-assisted development platforms such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent AI engineering tools
- Experience working alongside Large Language Models (LLMs), AI APIs, or AI-enabled software platforms is a plus.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
