Kratos is seeking a Software Engineer to join our team in a dynamic, agile environment. This role contributes to a SecDevOps approach across the software development lifecycle, supporting design, development, testing, and operational support based on user feedback. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively to implement and maintain software solutions using modern industry standards while providing clear status updates on design efforts. Key responsibilities include supporting system integration to develop and deploy applications, as well as utilizing containerization tools like Kubernetes to manage and deploy services. Additionally, the role involves executing testing and automation by maintaining automated test scripts within CI/CD pipelines and supporting operational tasks through requirements verification, documentation, and troubleshooting in simulated environments.
Experience And Skills
- BA/BS Degree in STEM field of study
- 5-7 years of relevant, industry experience
- Java and C/C++ programming (including basic network and multi-threaded programming) on Windows and Linux platforms
- Scripting languages including Windows Batch, Unix Shell Scripting, or Python Scripting
- Basic understanding of relational database applications and core Structured Query Language (SQL) queries
- Ability to implement solutions to defined engineering problems
- Platform Experience: Foundational experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes architecture.
- Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with satellite ground station concepts (planning, ground control, or data processing).
- Languages/Tools: Exposure to Python, GitLab/Azure DevOps, or JIRA/Confluence.
- Testing: Experience executing functional, integration, regression, or performance testing.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain or maintain an active Security Clearance.
- Certifications: Progress toward or interest in achieving RHCA, CKA, or CKAD certifications.
- Methodologies: Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) or GitOps principles.
Salary Range: $106,000-$120,000
