About the Team

We are a cross-functional Agile squad responsible for client-facing banking applications. Our team owns several high-profile web applications and related backend services that support key business functions.

This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly visible area of the organization while developing a deep understanding of the Banking and Wealth Management business. You will contribute to new product development, enhance existing applications, and support solutions throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Our squad has been established for three years and has developed strong expertise in the business domain, technologies, and products. We have built a strong reputation within the Firm through the value we deliver and are looking for a talented Backend Developer to join our growing team.

The Role

As a Backend Developer, you will design, develop, enhance, and support applications that connect our clients across web and mobile channels with a variety of backend systems.

You will work in a collaborative, multinational environment alongside talented professionals across Backend Development, Frontend Development, QA, Business Analysis, and Product Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain backend applications using .NET and/or Java.
• Build and maintain services that support client-facing web and mobile banking applications.
• Develop and integrate backend services and APIs across enterprise systems.
• Contribute to new product development and enhancements to existing applications.
• Participate in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Work as part of a cross-functional Agile squad with colleagues across multiple technical and business disciplines.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and development teams across the United States and United Kingdom.
• Take technical ownership of projects and contribute to architecture and design decisions.
• Apply software engineering best practices to develop scalable, maintainable, and reliable solutions.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues and identify effective solutions.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across development processes and technologies.
• Utilize modern AI-powered development tools to improve productivity, code quality, and problem-solving.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation where applicable.
• Support technical knowledge sharing and contribute to the growth of team members.
• Be willing to work across related areas and codebases to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience using .NET and/or Java.
• Experience with backend application development and enterprise software systems.
• Some experience with frontend technologies such as Angular or React.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Willingness to work across related technical areas, including DevOps and other teams’ codebases.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a multinational and cross-functional environment.
• A proactive mindset and commitment to continuous learning and improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desirable:

• Strong expertise in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Experience working with cloud technologies and modern software engineering practices.
• Knowledge of Financial Markets, Banking, Wealth Management, or Financial Services.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience with software architecture and distributed systems.
• Experience with related disciplines such as:
• Product Management
• User Experience (UX)
• Business Analytics
• Information Architecture or Information Mapping
• Experience working with modern AI-assisted development tools.
