Golang Engineer

The Backend Platform Services team owns a set of foundational services that are relied upon by a wide range of internal product teams. These services include customer communications, user profile and preference management, media-related systems, and other core platform capabilities.

The team is responsible for ensuring these platforms remain reliable, scalable, maintainable, and ready to support future growth initiatives, global expansion, and modernization efforts.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Go.
• Operate and enhance critical platform services serving multiple internal product organizations.
• Support systems related to notifications, user preferences, content management, and platform infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot production issues, investigate internal support requests, and drive improvements to prevent recurring incidents.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response activities.
• Contribute to platform modernization and legacy system migration initiatives.
• Develop automated tests and technical documentation.
• Participate actively in architecture discussions and code reviews.
• Identify reliability, scalability, and operational improvement opportunities and drive them through implementation.
• Work closely with engineers, product teams, customer support, and platform stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

• Professional backend software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with Go, or strong backend experience in another language with the ability to become productive in Go quickly.
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining web applications, APIs, or backend services.
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL.
• Experience working within cloud-based environments.
• Experience deploying and managing containerized applications.
• Production support and operational ownership experience.
• Experience participating in incident response and on-call rotations.
• Strong debugging and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
