About the Role

Leading at Uber means setting direction in motion, not waiting for perfect conditions. As an Account Management Lead for the Eats SMB team, you will build and guide a high-performing, multilingual team in a fast-moving environment where the answers aren't always scripted and the stakes for our restaurant partners are real. You'll own the commercial strategy for your territory, making tough calls under pressure to win selection street by street and grow our merchant footprint.

This role isn't just about managing a team to hit quota; it's about navigating cultural nuances, building trust across diverse languages-with a strong focus on connecting with Mandarin-speaking restaurant partners-and bridging real-world merchant needs with Uber's technology. You'll balance deep empathy for your team and partners with the decisive action required to move the business forward. If you are a resilient, resourceful leader who thrives in ambiguity, embraces cultural complexity, and loves solving messy, real-world commercial challenges, this is where you'll make your mark.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coach a multilingual team of Account Managers to build deep, trusted relationships with diverse merchant partners-specifically driving engagement across Mandarin-speaking restaurant communities.
  • Navigate commercial ambiguity and internal complexity to unblock growth, managing trade-offs between short-term regional targets and long-term partner health.
  • Inspect pipeline health and operational dashboards with discipline, course-correcting quickly when shifting priorities, market pressures, or team bottlenecks arise.
  • Drive the adoption of new platform tools, marketing features, and automation across your territory, making fast, practical decisions even with imperfect data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Marketing, and Product teams to advocate for merchant needs, remove operational blockers, and influence regional strategy.
  • Manage complex, high-stakes negotiations while keeping your team resilient through changing workflows, tough client feedback, and evolving market conditions.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Account Management, Sales, or Business Development.
  • 1+ years of experience in a direct people management or team leadership role.
  • Fluency in English and professional/native proficiency in Mandarin (written and spoken) to lead a multilingual team and build relationships with Mandarin-speaking merchants.
  • Experience in client-facing roles or leading teams with direct customer responsibility.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven track record of coaching sellers and scaling teams in fast-paced B2B tech, food delivery, or hospitality environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to bridge cultural and linguistic nuances in sales strategy, stakeholder management, and team leadership.
  • Proficiency using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) and data analytics to inspect pipeline health, forecast accurately, and make strategic decisions.
  • Strong systems thinker with experience identifying broken workflows and building scalable commercial processes.
