#AboutYourRole

As a Consultant in our Advisory department, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our clients in identifying, assessing, and managing risks that may impact their business objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams and leveraging your expertise to deliver value-added insights.


You will work collaboratively with the wider Financial Risk Measurement team and our clients. The role requires flexibility to tackle a wide range of tasks:

  • Contribute to the full lifecycle of credit and traded risk models, including model development & validation, data management, and coding (e.g., credit scorecards, IRB capital models, IFRS 9 impairment, economic capital, data analytics, forecasting, and stress testing), using analytical tools (e.g. Python, SAS, R, SQL).
  • Support the design and implementation of risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and market best practices.
  • Keep up to date with academic, technical and industry developments and support the design and implementation of innovative modeling and data analytics solutions, leveraging AI and Generative AI Deloitte proprietary solutions (Solaria)

Key Qualifications

  • Academic background in a quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Risk Management & Statistics, or Quantitative Banking & Finance (Master’s degree or professional qualification such as PRMIA, GARP, CFA is an advantage).
  • Tenure of completing the degree must be 4-5 years, except for Integrated Master's programmes, which can be 5-6 years.
  • Solid knowledge of stochastic calculus, financial mathematics, and risk modelling (e.g., market/credit risk, quantitative finance applications).
  • Strong technical and programming skills with Python, SAS, SQL and R, with excellent statistical knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Interest and motivation in data science for finance with eagerness to learn financial regulations and accounting standards.
  • Proficient in English, with strong oral and written communication skills; able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills, confident in client interactions and capable of influencing stakeholders.
  • A strong work ethic, high personal standards, and a professional and personable demeanor.
  • Commitment to creating and maintaining a respectful and inclusive culture.
  • Ability to work proactively, while also collaborating effectively within teams to meet challenging deadlines.
  • High motivation, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in dynamic environments.
