Software Engineer – L4

What You’ll Do:

Lead the design and implementation of major features or services within the

Platform Catalog ecosystem.

Drive architectural discussions and propose scalable solutions aligned with

engineering best practices.

Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.

Partner with product managers and stakeholders to translate business goals into

technical outcomes.

Advocate for system reliability, performance, and observability across multiple

integrations.

Strong software engineering skills (Java, REST/GraphQL APIs, Docker, Kubernetes to

design API to consume/produce data and build backend applications to power

wayfair advertising platforms.

Use kafka/aerospike/Elasticsearch for building a realtime data pipeline as a

backbone for the entire Advertising team.

Expertise in microservices architecture for highly available, large-scale distributed

systems.

Participate and manage on-call and production support rotations to support and

troubleshoot system issues off-hours and during promotional events

Team Coordination: Coordinate with team members to assign tasks, set goals,

monitor progress, and resolve technical issues.

Technical Mentoring: Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering

continuous learning and improvement.

We Are a Match Because You Have:

• 6–8 years of software engineering experience with a track record of delivering

production-grade systems.

• Deep expertise in software architecture, distributed systems, and API design.

• Proficiency in, Java, with strong debugging and optimization skills.

• Experience operating in cloud-native environments (preferably GCP).

•Ability to influence design decisions and collaborate effectively with cross-functional Teams.
