Senior Backend Engineer - Sports/ Entertainment + Prediction Markets - Fully Remote - Go/ AWS - VERY competitive salary + bonus + stock

I'm representing one of the most exciting early-stage builds in the prediction markets space with a Senior Backend Engineer position.

They need a Senior Backend Engineer who wants to own something, not just contribute to it. This isn't a maintenance role or a ticket queue. You're coming in at the ground floor of a platform handling millions of events and real-money transactions.

What you build here will matter and there is A LOT of building to do!

The role

Backend-focused, Go at the core. You'll own services end-to-end, from spec to deployment to monitoring to iteration. Data integrity, transaction correctness, event-driven architecture, observable systems. The kind of work where getting it right actually counts.

You'll be working across markets, orders, and trading infrastructure, building pipelines, managing data at scale, and collaborating closely with product and frontend teams to ship things that work in the real world, under real pressure.

The team is AI-native. Most code is written by agents. If you're getting serious velocity out of Claude, Codex, Cursor, or Copilot and can point to specific examples of how it's changed the way you work, you'll fit right in.

Who they want

Strong Go or a comparable backend language (they're pragmatic, but Go is the stack) + AWS

PostgreSQL at depth: query optimisation, indexing, schema design. Event-driven architecture experience, Kafka or similar. You understand distributed systems, you care about reliability, and you're comfortable being on-call for something that genuinely can't go down.

Technically sharp. Cross-functional. Proactive. The kind of engineer who spots a problem on Monday and has a solution shipped by Wednesday

Background in financial services, trading platforms, or real-money transaction systems is a genuine plus. So is a startup or 0→1 mindset

They want builders, not maintainers.
