About Future Mortgage
We're building the modern operating system for mortgage lending, a multi-tenant CRM and borrower platform that turns a slow, paperwork-heavy process into something fast and automated. Loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers all run on our software, backed by deep integrations with income, credit, and verification providers.
About the role
You'll own backend services end-to-end: designing type-safe APIs, modeling financial data correctly, and wiring in the third-party systems that power verification and origination. This is high-trust, correctness-critical work, the data we handle drives real lending decisions, so we care a lot about getting it right.
What you'll do
- Design and ship type-safe APIs and domain services that power our CRM and borrower-facing apps.
- Build and maintain integrations with financial and verification providers (income, assets, credit, e-sign, communications).
- Model complex domain data with a strong bias toward correctness, data integrity, and multi-tenant isolation.
- Write clean, well-tested code unit, integration, and end-to-end, and keep our test suites healthy.
- Collaborate closely with frontend, product, and design in a cross-functional, fast-moving team.
- Own your work in production: instrument it, monitor it, and improve it.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years building backend systems, with strong CS fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, system design).
- Deep proficiency in TypeScript/Node.js (or strong adjacent experience and eagerness to go deep on it).
- Hands-on experience designing and operating REST or RPC-style APIs and integrating with databases and third-party services.
- Solid relational data modeling with PostgreSQL (or similar) and an ORM such as Prisma.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure / GCP) and CI/CD pipelines.
- A genuine habit of writing testable code and meaningful tests.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in an Agile, cross-functional team.
Nice to have
- Experience in fintech, mortgage tech, or other regulated / data-intensive domains.
- Familiarity with financial data standards (e.g., MISMO) or lending/verification integrations.
- Background operating a modern TS toolchain — monorepos (Nx), tRPC, background job queues, realtime (WebSockets).
