As a Principal Software Engineer, you will lead the design and development of our digital backbone from the ground up. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role where you define both the “how” and the “why” of our technical architecture.
You are a methodical problem-solver who thrives in a design-driven, rapid-iteration environment. Your mission is to transform complex thermal challenges into a secure, scalable, and maintainable SaaS platform capable of handling high-speed, data-intensive workloads aligned with GPU-level performance cycles.
Key Responsibilities:
Shape Technical Architecture
Own the system blueprint. Define, communicate, and guide architectural decisions to ensure the platform is resilient, fault-tolerant, scalable, and future-proof.
Ship with Velocity:
Deliver high-quality, secure, and well-tested code efficiently. Navigate roadblocks effectively and iterate quickly without compromising engineering standards.
Elevate Engineering Standards:
Champion clean code, robust testing practices, and engineering excellence. Set the benchmark for the engineering culture across the organization.
Own the DFM Loop
Collaborate closely with mechanical engineers to integrate Smartfins logic into a seamless cloud-based experience, bridging software and physical systems.
Automate & Scale
Implement DevOps best practices, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and orchestration tools, to ensure efficient and reliable deployments.
Leverage Next-Generation Tools
Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Gemini, Claude, GitHub Copilot) to accelerate software development, debugging, testing, and documentation.
The Essentials
Educational Background
Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on industry experience.
7+ Years of Engineering Excellence
Proven experience building large-scale, customer-facing SaaS applications in fast-paced environments such as DeepTech, FinTech, or high-growth startups.
Full-Stack Expertise
Strong proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Go, C#, or Java, combined with a structured approach to designing and building complex software systems.
Cloud-Native Experience
Hands-on experience designing, securing, deploying, and scaling applications on Azure, AWS, or GCP.
Founder's Mindset
Adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working in ambiguous environments. Able to navigate shifting priorities, take ownership, and deliver results without unnecessary bureaucracy.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in the semiconductor, data center, cooling technology, or AI infrastructure industries.
- Familiarity with IoT platforms and hardware-software integration.
- Interest in mentoring engineers and helping build a high-performing engineering team.
- Experience working in early-stage startups or scaling technology organizations.
