Platform Engineer – Go & Kubernetes

We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer with strong experience in Golang and Kubernetes to join a Platform Engineering team. This role will support aligned product teams by planning and coordinating work, collaborating across teams, and developing platform functionality that enables high levels of quality, reliability, and operational success.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven, proactive professional with excellent communication skills who is comfortable working in a paired programming environment and taking initiative in a fast-paced engineering organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain platform engineering solutions using Golang and cloud-native technologies.
• Support product engineering teams by building reliable, scalable, and high-quality platform capabilities.
• Deploy, manage, and support applications and infrastructure in AWS environments.
• Work with Kubernetes/EKS clusters and cloud-native deployment technologies.
• Implement observability and monitoring solutions using OpenTelemetry and related tools.
• Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform.
• Collaborate effectively in a paired programming and team-oriented environment.
• Plan and prioritize work while managing multiple competing requests and priorities.
• Coordinate with cross-functional and product teams to deliver platform solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly through both verbal and written communication.
• Take ownership of tasks, identify opportunities for improvement, and proactively drive initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• 3–6 years of professional programming or software development experience.
• Strong programming experience with Golang (Go).
• Experience with Kubernetes and AWS EKS.
• Approximately 3 years of experience hosting services using AWS cloud technologies.
• Approximately 3 years of experience deploying and/or managing Kubernetes or EKS clusters.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry and Terraform.
• Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including tact, collaboration, and negotiation.
• Comfortable working in a paired programming environment.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Datadog and/or Grafana.
• Experience with Java, Rust, or Python.
• Experience supporting platform engineering or developer enablement teams.
• Knowledge of cloud-native architecture, observability, and reliability engineering practices.
