Our Challenge:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fullstack Engineer – SME / Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on expertise across both backend and frontend technologies, combined with leadership capabilities to guide engineering teams, drive technical decisions, and ensure best practices in software development and deployment.
This role requires deep knowledge of modern fullstack development, microservices architecture, AWS cloud services, Kubernetes-based deployments, and CI/CD automation. The candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, contributing as both a technical expert and people/process leader.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.
In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Piscataway, NJ is $125K-135K/year & benefits (see below).
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance fullstack applications.
- Lead backend development using Python, Go, and Node.js.
- Develop modern, responsive frontend applications using React and Next.js.
- Architect and implement microservices-based solutions with a focus on scalability, resiliency, and maintainability.
- Manage and optimize containerized workloads using Kubernetes, particularly on AWS EKS.
- Design and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services such as EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudFormation, and Terraform.
- Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, integration, and deployment to AWS environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, architects, DevOps, QA, and business stakeholders.
- Drive engineering best practices in coding standards, code reviews, security, observability, and performance optimization.
- Mentor and guide engineers, providing technical leadership and supporting team growth and delivery excellence.
- Participate in solution design discussions, technical planning, and effort estimation.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and ensure system reliability and uptime.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Fullstack Engineer, Technical Lead, SME, or Engineering Manager in modern web application development.
- Strong hands-on backend expertise in:
- Python
- Go
- Node.js
- Strong frontend development experience with:
- React
- Next.js
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Strong experience with container orchestration, especially Kubernetes and AWS EKS.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including:
- EKS
- Lambda
- API Gateway
- CloudFormation
- Terraform
- Strong experience in building and managing CI/CD pipelines and deploying applications to AWS.
- Good understanding of software engineering best practices, including version control, testing, code review, and secure development practices.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native application development.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred, but not required:
- Experience managing or mentoring engineering teams.
- Exposure to DevOps, SRE, and infrastructure automation practices.
- Knowledge of monitoring/logging tools and observability frameworks.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- Familiarity with database design, performance tuning, and caching strategies.
- AWS certifications or Kubernetes certifications are a plus.
