Lead Backend Engineer (Golang)

Summary

• Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of cloud-native applications and backend services using Golang for mission-critical customer platforms.
• Provide technical leadership, define application architecture, design principles, engineering standards, and drive technical design and code reviews.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend services, RESTful APIs, microservices, and clean, efficient, reusable, well-documented code.
• Optimize performance, scalability, availability, reliability, security, platform resilience, monitoring, observability, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects, QA, DevOps, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver projects, releases, production support, incident management, and root cause analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 8 years in software development and minimum 3 years leading engineering teams or technical projects.
• Strong experience with Golang, RESTful API Design and Development, Microservices Architecture, SQL Databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Git Version Control, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD Pipeline, Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Google Pub/Sub.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum, large-scale production systems, high transaction volume applications, and migrating legacy applications to cloud-native architecture is preferred.
• Preferred experience and skills include Loyalty, CRM, Telecommunications, E-commerce, Digital Platform, customer identity, authentication, customer data platforms, GCP, Apigee API Management, Redis, Elasticsearch, Event-Driven Architecture, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, Robot Framework or Test Automation, System Performance Tuning, Cloud-native Application Design, Secure Software Development Practices, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Developer, Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect, CKAD, CKA, Scrum Master Certification (PSM or CSM), and Golang Certification.
