Tech Lead

About the Role:

Makro Philippines (CP Axtra AC Corporation) is looking for a Tech Lead to join our Supply Chain technology team. This is a hands-on role for a technical leader who can write code, conduct code reviews, and lead one or more development squads — building the systems that will scale with our growth as a retail and wholesale startup expanding across the Philippines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive digital transformation by designing and delivering solutions that align with stakeholder needs and scale with business demand
• Work closely with the Head of Technology and other stakeholders to define the product roadmap and delivery timeline
• Lead one or more development squads, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and direction
• Champion innovative approaches that help the team solve complex problems effectively
• Provide user story backlog sizing and recommendations to keep items well-defined and sprint-ready
• Uphold and enforce code quality standards across the team
• Actively participate in designing and building complex systems and architectures

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in backend OOP languages, preferably Java, Golang, Node.js, Scala, or other open-source technologies
• Some experience in React, TypeScript, or JavaScript
• Experience with relational database querying using SQL, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with GitOps environments such as ArgoCD or Kubestack
• Experience with automated code deployment tools such as CircleCI, Git Actions, or GitLab CI/CD
• Experience with container technologies Docker and Kubernetes
• Proven leadership experience with a track record of guiding and growing engineering teams
• Solid understanding of open API standards and service-oriented architecture
• Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to engage cross-functional stakeholders
• Experience in supply chain domains (logistics, warehouse management, procurement, or inventory systems) is a plus but not required
