Accountabilities: Areas this person needs to own
- Enterprise middleware and integration architecture strategy.
- API and microservices architecture governance.
- Platform scalability, resilience, and non-functional standards.
- Security, compliance, and architectural best practices.
- Technical leadership and cross-team alignment.
- Define and maintain reference architectures, design standards, and patterns for middleware, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Architect cloud-native, containerized services and integration solutions that are scalable, secure, and highly available.
- Govern API lifecycle management, including design guidelines, versioning strategies, traffic management, and consumption models.
- Collaborate with DevOps, security, and operations teams to ensure observability, automation, and platform readiness for production workloads.
- Provide architectural guidance, conduct design reviews, and mentor engineering teams while engaging stakeholders and vendors as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar, with minimally 4 years of relevant work experience
- Strong proficiency in Go (Golang) or Kubernetes with at least 1 year of hands‑on experience building backend services
- Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
- Experience with microservices architecture and service‑to‑service communication
- Strong knowledge of concurrency, goroutines, and channels in Go
- Proficiency in SQL and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and basic Kubernetes concepts
- Familiarity with Git and modern CI/CD pipelines
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices
- Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code (unit and integration testing)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Knowledge of event‑driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, etc.)
- Experience with API gateways, service meshes, or reverse proxies
- Familiarity with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing – Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry)
- Prior experience supporting high‑availability or high‑throughput systems
- Exposure to DevOps practices and production troubleshooting
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in cross‑functional teams
- Clear communication and documentation skills
- Ownership mindset and attention to production quality
