About The Role

Codeable is looking for a motivated Associate Backend Developer to join our growing engineering team in Lahore. In this role, you will work on backend development, API integrations, database management, authentication, server side logic, and application performance. You will work closely with frontend developers, mobile developers, UI/UX designers, QA engineers, and project managers to deliver reliable digital products for global clients. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong foundation in backend development, enjoys solving technical problems, and wants to grow while working on real client projects. As part of the engineering team, you will contribute to the backend development lifecycle, from building APIs and integrating databases to testing, debugging, deployment, and maintenance.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain backend systems for web and mobile applications
  • Build secure and scalable REST APIs
  • Work with databases to store, manage, and retrieve application data
  • Integrate third party APIs and external services
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and user management flows
  • Write clean, reusable, and maintainable backend code
  • Debug backend issues and improve application performance
  • Collaborate with frontend and mobile developers for smooth API integration
  • Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices
  • Assist in database design, schema updates, and query optimization
  • Work with QA teams to identify and fix backend related bugs
  • Maintain proper documentation for APIs and backend workflows

What you bring

  • 1 to 2 years of experience in backend development
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Experience with Node.js and Express.js or similar backend frameworks
  • Understanding of REST APIs and API integration
  • Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, or Supabase
  • Basic understanding of authentication and authorization
  • Familiarity with Git and collaborative development workflows
  • Ability to write clean and maintainable code
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment

Nice to have

  • Experience with NestJS
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working on SaaS, marketplace, or mobile app backend systems
  • Understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Vercel
