Visa Information

TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.

Position Description

The Programmer Analyst II's role is to develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications in support of business requirements. This includes writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications. The Programmer Analyst II will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the production life cycle.

Major/Essential Functions

  • Develop, implement, and maintain API services to enable seamless data exchange across systems and platforms.
  • Generate, test, enhance and maintain web-based applications, user interfaces, and interactive features.
  • Design database schemas, tables, and relationships to support the organization's data needs.
  • Write SQL queries to retrieve, update, and manipulate data efficiently.
  • Create and maintain Power BI reports to derive actionable insights from complex datasets, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for processes, workflows, and best practices across API development, Web development, data management, and business intelligence analysis.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with stakeholders, including business users, team members, and management
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to various web applications, LMS, data processing, and reporting.
  • Remain informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and advancements in API development, web development, database management, and business intelligence.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.

In accordance with Texas Executive Order GA-48 and applicable state or federal law, this position may involve access to, work on, or conduct research involving critical infrastructure. It will require background checks, including, but not limited to, criminal history and other security-related screenings. Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of these checks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in computer science.
  • Experience with web-based technologies such as MVC/C#, JavaScript, HTML, CSS and SQL databases.
  • Experience in Python and R languages for Data Analysis.
  • Experience with business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI, for data visualization and reporting.
  • Experience with programming languages, data structures, web design and development concepts.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems and Content Management Systems.
  • Experience with data analysis techniques and methodology.
  • Experience with full-stack development.
  • Experience with code versioning systems such as GitHub or TFS.
  • Experience with analysis, testing and validation of data derived from vendor platforms such as Qualtrics.
