Marty HR is partnering with an innovative international HealthTech scale-up that is redefining how technology supports healthcare. As the company continues to grow, we’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges while building scalable products with real-world impact.

This is a hands-on role for an experienced engineer who takes ownership, enjoys designing robust backend systems, and likes working closely with Product and Engineering to transform ideas into reliable software.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence technical decisions, mentor fellow engineers, and contribute to the architecture of a rapidly evolving platform.

Your Role

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in designing, building and maintaining the core platform.

Your responsibilities include:

• Designing and delivering scalable backend services and platform components.
• Building and maintaining APIs, integrations and data models.
• Translating business and product requirements into high-quality technical solutions.
• Writing clean, maintainable and well-tested code.
• Reviewing code and contributing to engineering best practices.
• Improving system performance, reliability and scalability.
• Working with cloud infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Supporting AI-assisted development workflows while ensuring code quality, security and maintainability.
• Collaborating closely with Product, Engineering and Leadership teams.

What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a pragmatic mindset.

Ideally, you have:

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering.
• Extensive experience building production-grade backend applications.
• Strong knowledge of Node.js, PostgreSQL, REST APIs and backend architecture.
• Experience working with AWS or similar cloud platforms.
• A solid understanding of software architecture, scalability and system design.
• Experience with integrations and complex business logic.
• Confidence using modern AI-assisted development tools while maintaining high engineering standards.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor other engineers.

Nice to Have

• Experience within HealthTech, MedTech or Life Sciences.
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR or HL7.
• Experience with AI-powered products or data platforms.
• Previous experience within a fast-growing startup or scale-up environment.
