Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale robust backend systems and services. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience building high‑performance, secure, and scalable backend applications and APIs, and will work closely with frontend, DevOps, and product teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Build and optimize RESTful / GraphQL APIs consumed by web and mobile applications
• Develop and maintain microservices-based architectures
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code following best engineering practices
• Participate in system design discussions and architecture decisions
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and scalability
• Ensure backend systems are secure, fault-tolerant, and production-ready
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and product stakeholders
• Participate in code reviews, mentoring junior developers when needed
• Troubleshoot production issues and provide root-cause analysis

• 6+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer / Software Engineer
• Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages:
• Java, Node.js, Python, or Go
• Strong experience with API development (REST preferred)
• Hands-on experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases
• MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.
• Experience with microservices architecture
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and security best practices
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
  

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Exposure to event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of distributed systems and scalability patterns
• Prior experience working in product-based or SaaS environments

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Clear communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to work independently and take ownership
• Comfortable working with distributed teams across locations
