The role

We are looking for a Backend Engineer who wants to build the systems powering the next generation of hiring.

You will work on the infrastructure behind candidate profiles, AI conversations, search, matching, integrations and company workflows.

This is not a role where someone else makes every architectural decision for you. We want you to understand the problem, form a view and own the solution.

What you'll own

• Build the backend systems powering Fika Jobs
• Work on candidate profiles, AI conversations, search, matching, integrations and company workflows
• Design systems that are reliable, fast and ready to scale
• Make foundational technical decisions with real product impact
• Help define the technical foundation of a category-defining company

Who you are

• You are an exceptional backend engineer with strong system design judgment
• You have extremely high agency and take ownership beyond the code you write
• You care about reliability, performance and clean architecture
• You move quickly without needing detailed instructions
• You want freedom, responsibility and a very high bar

Tech stack

Today, we work with Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js, AWS and PostgreSQL.

That said, we care much more about exceptional engineering ability, product judgment and ownership than experience with any specific technology. Great people learn fast, and we care more about how you think and what you can build.
