At RAVL, we connect strategy with execution, care deeply about the people we work with, and measure success by the lasting impact we leave behind. Our purpose is to build a team that puts real, sustainable business outcomes at the core of everything we do.
We’re here to leave our clients better than we found them, and to create a place where our people are proud to Build. Better.
As a Software Engineer at RAVL, you’ll design, build, and deliver secure, scalable, and high-performance services that form the backbone of modern digital systems. You’ll bring curiosity, craftsmanship, and a delivery-first mindset - shaping APIs, integrations, and distributed applications that solve real business problems. You’ll work across cloud environments and technologies, collaborating closely with product, platform, and data teams to deliver visible impact.
What Success Looks Like In This Role
- Design and build backend services, APIs, and integrations that are scalable, observable, and secure
- Architect and implement systems using modern languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Node.js, .NET, Go, Python)
- Apply principles of modularity, testing, and continuous delivery to ensure resilience and maintainability
- Integrate with cloud-native services and automate deployment through CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
- Collaborate with frontend, platform, and data engineers to deliver complete, reliable solutions
- Participate in code and design reviews - raising quality through thoughtful feedback and shared learning
- Demonstrate ownership and urgency in delivery - communicating risks early, iterating visibly, and focusing on outcomes
- At higher levels: mentor peers, contribute to architectural decisions, and influence technical direction within your team
- You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern languages (Java, C#, Go, Python, TypeScript/Node.js)
- Experience building and maintaining RESTful or event-driven APIs, and integrating with third-party or internal systems
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and deployment on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Understanding of CI/CD, testing automation, observability, and infrastructure-as-code
- Working knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL), caching, and data access patterns
- A collaborative mindset — comfortable discussing trade-offs and seeking the best path to value
- Consulting excellence: clear communication, prioritization, and adaptability in changing client environments
- Delivery-first – focused on outcomes that create visible client value
- Curious and pragmatic – loves learning, but knows when to ship
- Collaborative – thrives on feedback, teamwork, and shared accountability
- Influential – able to simplify complexity and build alignment across teams
- Languages: Java, C#, Go, Python, or TypeScript (Node.js)
- Frameworks & Tooling: Spring Boot, .NET Core, Express/Fastify, gRPC, REST, OpenAPI
- Build & Deployment: CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, Jenkins), Docker, Kubernetes
- Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCP (at least two preferred)
- Security & Compliance: IAM, encryption in transit and at rest, RBAC, secure API design
- Flexible, client-aligned work model - autonomy with accountability, adapting to client delivery needs
- Variable bonus & RRSP contributions tied to performance and delivery impact
- 4 weeks paid time off (plus public holidays)
- Paid professional development days and continuous learning opportunities
- Comprehensive health & dental coverage, including mental health support
- Commitment to lifelong learning - continuous improvement through training, mentorship, and certification
