Company Description Alatau Role Play is a game development startup creating an open-world multiplayer role-play experience inspired by Kazakhstan. The project emphasizes realistic player interaction, including jobs, businesses, and government systems, all rooted in local culture and urban environments. The team is focused on building an immersive world that reflects the atmosphere and identity of Kazakhstan. Rather than replicating existing RP projects, Alatau Role Play aims to deliver a fresh, distinctive experience for players seeking deep social and gameplay systems.

Role Description As a Developer at Alatau Role Play, you will work full time on-site in Almaty, Kazakhstan, collaborating closely with designers, artists, and other engineers to build core game systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities may include implementing gameplay mechanics, integrating UI components, optimizing performance, and maintaining clean, scalable codebases. You will help design and develop features that support realistic player interactions, such as job systems, business logic, and government or administrative frameworks. The role also involves debugging and troubleshooting technical issues, participating in code reviews, and contributing to technical documentation. You will be expected to take part in regular team meetings, provide input on feature planning, and support iteration based on player and internal feedback.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language commonly used in game development (e.g., C++, C#, or similar) and experience with object-oriented programming.
• Hands-on experience with game engines or frameworks (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity, or comparable tools) and familiarity with scripting gameplay logic.
• Knowledge of software development best practices, including version control (e.g., Git), debugging, testing, and performance optimization.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team, communicate technical concepts clearly, and contribute to code reviews and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of features from concept to implementation.
• Interest in open-world or role-play game design and willingness to engage with themes related to Kazakhstan’s culture and cities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Fluency in English or Russian for effective team communication; knowledge of Kazakh is a plus.
