Senior Backend Developer

Optomi, in partnership with a leading telecommunications company, is seeking an experienced Sr. Backend Developer to support a recently launched, business-critical pricing engine. We are looking for a backend engineer with strong experience in Python, API development, and microservices architecture.

Key Focus:

• Backend development with Python
• Microservices design and development
• API creation, integration, and maintenance
• Supporting a live pricing engine (recently transitioned from greenfield to production)

What You’ll Do:

• Build and maintain scalable microservices and backend APIs
• Enhance and support an existing production pricing platform
• Integrate with internal systems and services across a distributed architecture
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to deliver key improvements

What We’re Looking For:

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack experience with a strong backend focus
• Proven expertise in Python and API development/consumption
• Hands-on experience building or working within microservices architectures
• Experience supporting production systems and shipping high-quality code
• Ability to quickly understand complex systems with minimal training
• Exposure to Databricks or PySpark is a plus (not the primary focus)
• Machine learning familiarity is a bonus, not required
