Responsibilities
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cloud Engineer to support and enhance our Azure GovCloud environments. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operations of Azure GovCloud workloads, focusing on IaC, automation, migrations, and security hardening. This role requires a hands‑on technical mindset and the ability to collaborate closely with the Lead Cloud Engineer and other stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Deploy and maintain infrastructure with Terraform, ARM templates, and Azure CLI. Build and maintain Azure DevOps and GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
- Apply monthly patches to NIPR/SIPR VMs and monitor Azure workloads, responding to alerts and remediating vulnerabilities. Manage Azure Virtual Desktop, API Management, Application Gateway, and Blob/File storage.
- Support Microsoft Defender for Cloud, ACAS, and STIG scanning, and help keep the Tenant Security score and compliance docs up to date.
- Draft and update SOPs, runbooks, and environment checklists, and contribute to weekly infrastructure briefs and stakeholder reports.
- Work with the Lead Cloud Engineer on architecture reviews and coordinate with application owners, security teams, and auditors. REQUIRED SKILLS:
- CompTIA Security+ certification
- Bachelor’s or higher in Engineering, Science, or IT.
- 3 - 5 years in cloud engineering, 2+ in Azure GovCloud (IL5/IL6).
- Strong experience with Microsoft Azure, including VMs, Azure Portal, Azure CLI, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM).
- Familiarity with NIPR/SIPR environments and IL5/IL6 compliance. PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Azure Administrator Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent certification.
- Experience with Cassandra, 3DS Teamwork Cloud, or similar mission‑critical workloads.
- Experience with Azure API Management, Application Gateway, or reverse proxy configurations. COMPENSATION:
