Senior System Engineer

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join their growing Infrastructure team in a hybrid role in King of Prussia, PA, with 4 days onsite and Fridays remote. This hands-on engineering position will support and maintain enterprise infrastructure across both Microsoft Azure and on-premises environments while serving as the Tier III escalation point for complex technical issues. The ideal candidate has strong Azure expertise, excels at troubleshooting, and enjoys working in a collaborative environment supporting infrastructure modernization, automation, and enterprise technology initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support enterprise infrastructure across Microsoft Azure and on-premises Windows environments.
• Serve as the Tier III escalation point for complex infrastructure, server, and systems-related issues.
• Manage and maintain Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, DNS, DHCP, and virtualization technologies.
• Design, implement, and support Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure solutions.
• Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative and operational tasks.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, availability, and security while proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and DevOps teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
• Assist with occasional desktop or help desk escalations when necessary.
• Maintain technical documentation and support operational best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Systems Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure in an enterprise environment.
• Expertise supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, DNS, and DHCP.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies.
• Proven Tier III infrastructure troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, MSSQL, or enterprise monitoring tools is a plus.
• Prior consulting experience or experience supporting medium-to-large enterprise environments is highly preferred.
