Job Summary

We are seeking an Azure & Apache Tomcat Technical Administrator to support, maintain, and optimize cloud-based and web application environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for Azure platform administration, Apache Tomcat management, application deployment, security administration, and operational support. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and the capability to work independently in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Administration

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Azure-based application environments.
• Support the deployment, configuration, and management of Azure Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions.
• Assist in the design, implementation, and support of Azure-hosted solutions.
• Manage and troubleshoot Azure services including App Services, Azure Functions, Containers, Load Balancers, and related cloud components.
• Support Azure cloud-native application deployment and release activities.
• Monitor system performance, availability, and security across Azure environments.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable and scalable cloud solutions.

Apache Tomcat Administration

• Administer and maintain Apache Tomcat application servers.
• Perform installation, configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Tomcat environments.
• Execute patching, upgrades, and maintenance activities for Tomcat and Java components.
• Manage application server security configurations and access controls.
• Monitor application performance and resolve server-related issues.

General Responsibilities

• Conduct system monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting activities.
• Support incident, problem, and change management processes.
• Implement and maintain application security best practices and cybersecurity controls.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support guides.
• Participate in system upgrades, maintenance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure service reliability and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting Azure application services and cloud environments.
• Minimum 2 years of experience administering Apache Tomcat environments.
• Good understanding of Azure PaaS services and foundational IaaS concepts, including servers, storage, networking, firewalls, and load balancing.
• Experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Containers, Load Balancers, and related Azure technologies.
• Knowledge of cloud-native application deployment and administration.
• Experience in Apache Tomcat administration, patching, and Java environment management.
• Understanding of application cybersecurity principles and security best practices.
• Experience with system monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Experience in designing and implementing Azure-hosted solutions.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud and application environments.
