Azure Data Architect

We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Azure Data Architect to design, build, and optimize our enterprise data platform. You will serve as the strategic liaison between business stakeholders and application teams, translating complex business requirements into robust technical data models. In this role, you will oversee the evolution of our central Data Hub, ensuring seamless data integration, mapping, and high-performance analytics delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Architecture & Modeling: Design scalable enterprise data architectures. Create conceptual, logical, and physical data models tailored for high-volume analytics and reporting.
• Business-to-Application Liaison: Act as the primary bridge between business units and engineering teams. Translate business needs into clear data requirements and technical specifications
• Data Mapping Exercises: Lead comprehensive data mapping initiatives. Document end-to-end data lineage, source-to-target mappings, and business transformations.
• Data Hub Integration: Own the design and governance of the central Data Hub, ensuring centralized, secure, and clean data access across the organization
• Pipeline & Platform Engineering: Build and optimize robust ETL/ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, and Informatica
• Data Query Optimization: Implement and manage Dremio to enable fast, self-service data virtualization and SQL querying across distributed data sources

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Cloud Platform: Proven expertise in the Microsoft Azure data ecosystem (Azure Synapse, Data Lake Storage, SQL Database).
• Data Integration Tools: Deep, hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF), Apache Spark/Databricks, and Informatica (IICS or PowerCenter).
• Data Virtualization: Strong working knowledge of Dremio for data virtualization and semantic layer modeling.
• Data Modeling: Advanced proficiency in relational, dimensional (Kimball/Inmon), and Data Vault modeling methodologies.
• Communication & Organization: Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to organize cross-functional workshops and manage stakeholder expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
• Experience implementing data governance and master data management (MDM) frameworks.
