Junior Azure Administrator

Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated Junior Azure Administrator to join our Cloud Operations team. This role is ideal for an early-career IT professional interested in cloud technologies, infrastructure management, and platform operations. The Junior Azure Administrator will support the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of Microsoft Azure services while working closely with senior cloud engineers, security teams, and application developers.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in the administration and maintenance of Microsoft Azure environments.

• Monitor cloud resources, system health, performance, and availability.
• Provision and manage Azure resources including:

o Virtual Machines

• Storage Accounts
• Virtual Networks (VNets)
• Azure App Services
• Azure SQL Databases
• Support Azure Active Directory (Azure AD / Entra ID) user and group administration.
• Assist with identity and access management, role assignments, and security policies.
• Configure and monitor Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery, and business continuity services.
• Support incident response, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis for cloud-related issues.
• Assist with cloud cost management and resource optimization activities.
• Participate in patch management and system maintenance activities.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, operating procedures, and knowledge articles.
• Support automation initiatives using PowerShell, Azure Automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Collaborate with networking, security, infrastructure, and application teams to support cloud-based solutions.

Required Qualifications

· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 0–2 years of IT infrastructure, systems administration, or cloud support experience.
• Basic knowledge of:

o Microsoft Azure

• Windows Server administration
• TCP/IP networking concepts
• DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory
• Virtualization technologies
• Cloud security fundamentals
• Familiarity with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
• Basic understanding of Azure Resource Manager (ARM).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

· Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) certification.

• Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with:

o PowerShell scripting

• Azure Monitor
• Azure Backup
• Azure Site Recovery
• Microsoft Defender for Cloud
• Azure Virtual Desktop
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or Bicep.
• Familiarity with DevOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines.

Typical Day-to-Day Activities

· Review Azure monitoring dashboards and alerts.

• Provision new cloud resources and user access.
• Assist with troubleshooting connectivity, performance, and security issues.
• Participate in maintenance windows and system upgrades.
• Support cloud governance and compliance initiatives.
• Work with senior cloud engineers on infrastructure improvement projects.
