What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and building Lakehouse solutions in Microsoft Fabric using the medallion architecture across bronze, silver and gold layers.
- Working with OneLake, Delta tables and Fabric SQL analytics endpoints.
- Ingesting and transforming data from multiple sources using Data Factory pipelines, Dataflow Gen2 and Copy activities.
- Developing data-quality, validation and transformation logic.
- Creating reusable, curated datasets and dimensional data models.
- Building presentation layers and Power BI semantic models.
- Implementing row-level and object-level security.
- Developing Azure back-end components using .NET and C#.
- Building event-driven solutions using Azure Functions, Event Grid and related Azure services.
- Integrating Microsoft Fabric and Azure services with external platforms and applications.
- Supporting secure cloud infrastructure, including private networking, managed identities, Microsoft Entra ID and role-based access control.
- Managing source control, CI/CD and environment promotion using Git, Azure DevOps and Fabric deployment pipelines.
- Contributing to solution design, technical documentation and as-built documentation.
- Participating in technical reviews, stand-ups, knowledge sharing and project planning.
- Communicating with clients to clarify technical requirements, provide updates and explain solution approaches.
- Supporting front-end development where required, with exposure to React or Angular considered valuable.
- At least five years of relevant professional experience across data engineering, cloud development or software development.
- Strong hands-onexperience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Practical experience with:
- OneLake
- Lakehouse architecture
- Delta tables
- Data Factory pipelines
- Dataflow Gen2
- SQL analytics endpoints
- Strong SQL capability and experience with data modelling.
- Experience designing and implementing medallion architecture.
- Solid .NET and C# back-end development experience.
- Experience building Azure Functions and event-driven cloud solutions.
- Broad knowledge of Azure services, including storage, networking, Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities and RBAC.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD and environment management.
- A strong understanding of cloud security and secure development practices.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a delivery team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence communicating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A practical, delivery-focused mindset and a high standard of documentation.
- React or Angular experience.
- Power BI semantic modelling experience.
- Microsoft Dataverse integration experience.
- Exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 or the Power Platform.
- Power Apps or Power Automate experience.
- Infrastructure-as-code experience.
- Experience working in consulting, regulated or data-sovereign environments.
- Relevant Microsoft certifications, including Fabric, Azure or Power Platform certifications.
